eye masks

Last year sometime there was a post about eye masks and a link to a company that sold them.
I don't know how to find it. Does any know the companies name or how to search for it.

Thanks
Catherine

There are many different kinds of eyemasks you can buy. I haven't been able to get out to buy one so i just use a simple cotton bandana scarf. It does help keep your eyes closed and the light out. I wash it with the towels as you can get blepharitis , if you don't keep them clean and i have noticed that those dryer sheets are eye-irritating so i use liquid perfume and dye-free Downy fabric softener. (It's the only company who makes such a product that i know of) .
I'm sure others will add here.

I'm sorry I don't know what post that was, but gel eye masks are available in several stores. I have gotten mine at Walgreens and Kmart. No doublt they are available at other drug stores also.

You can't really sleep comfortably in those, aren't they more for cooling and refreshing tired eyes? and sinus problems?

I use it at room temperature and don't have too much of a problem with it; however, I do remove it at some point during the night :-))

Hi Catherine, just do a "google" search for peepersleepers and see if you come up with something. I have several of them and they are comfortable. You might also just do a search for sleepmasks or eyemasks. We're not supposed to post links for advertising sites so if you have difficulty finding what you need just email me. The above should get you where you want to go, though.

Shirley

Thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for.

I have the mask from the airlines but they are made from nylon and are extremely hot. Also the ones from the store are so bid. I just want them to cover just around the eyes not the whole upper half of my face. I do have someone that is going to try to customize some for me and also have had a couple made with lavender seeds and also flax seeds inside. It workes great because my eye does not close and it has just enought weight to keep it shut. They only thing is you can't wash them as they go very hard (tried to by accident) Maybe if someone came up with a good idea they could be sold through this site and the money go to the foundation, like the cookbooks

Catherine, inexpensive smaller masks can also be found at discount stores. They are smaller than some of the more expensive ones. If you really need to keep that eye closed, you could also try a stretchy cotton headband or "sweatband" or a winter headband (these are wider and are meant to protect your forehead and ears from the cold). If you don't like all that material going all around your head, you could cut them to cover your eyes and attach elastic to them. I find that the "headbands" versus the masks will actually keep your lids closed as they fit more snuggly around your eyes. And they can be washed easily.

Catherine, most of my night blinds (masks) have come from airlines - they used to give them out free on long-distance flights. I've also purchased some from drug stores locally. I've also seen them at specialty stores where they sell towels, soaps, etc. I have a dozen or more as I wash them everyday, by hand, with a soapless detergent - they dry very quickly. Mind you they are NOT the attractive type that film stars might use:-)

Dear Friends. I can sew a little, 2 weeks ago I decided to make a sleep mask, I made a pattern from newspaper, had some left over soft dark blue material, Put 2 layers togetter, cut a slot out for my nose, sewed it together, added a piece of 1 quater inch elastic, and I have a sleep mask. I have just returned to Ohio after spending the winter in Fl. This first mask is a bit crude, I will try to improve on it this week and make a couple more. I also use those dark blue bandannas to tie around my eyes, they work preetty good.Edith
