I am usually on the other board, but thought all the boards might help with this question.

I had Botox yesterday and today I have body aches and feel really sick to my stomach. Now that I think of it, the same thing happened to me last time--I have been struggling with being nauseated on and off ever since the first injection 6 weeks ago.

Has anyone else had this side effect? I am so bummed out, because the Botox is helping my tongue (I have lingual dystonia), but feeling like I'm going to upchuck is definitely bringing me down.

Lori

Hi Laurie,
I can relate. The same thing happened to me, everyone thought it was a fluf, but like you, when it happened a second time, I knew better. I went to my file of BEB BB ideas that I have kept and found a suggestions made by someone (?) that one should make a Chamomile tea with Sage in it and drink it the day before, the day of, and the day after. I did this and have not been ill since. I just brew about a teaspoon of Sage with a pot of tea. I place the sage in a coffee paper in a strainer. It actually has a decent flavor and worked for me.
I hope this works for you!

Hi Laurie, I haven't felt nauseated after botox injections and I hope Linda's tea recipe helps you with that. I have felt other symptoms - sinus, flu-like and, because my injections are in the eyelids, lots of eye pain headaches, blurring and double vision - oh the joys of botox, but so glad we have at least this treatment. Best wishes

I have heard of people sometimes feeling like they have a slight case of flu afterwards. Ann Doyle

Hi Lori,

I had a real rough time with Botox injections and feeling flu like for about a week afterwards. Try the tea, and try (as hard as it may be) to focus on the fact that your tongue is better.

Take care,
Denise

You didn't say how long you had been getting Botox or if your dose had gone up since symptoms. I definitely had reaction within 30 minutes with the first year of injections, but they started lasting for shorter periiods as my body adjusted. I was told it was unrelated, but knew better and sure enough in possible side effects........flu symptoms. So hang in there hopefully you too will notice them less and less.
