Hi Geraldine,
Your question about normalcy... yes, it can happen. I had the Blepharospasm as bad as you (I posted under "updates" to read more). I was diagnosed exactly a year ago and spent 45 days off work and my eyes were so tight that a crow bar could not have pried them open. I was terrified and cried alot and thought for sure my life as an RN was over. I won't go into all of the details here as I have talked about this already on here and don't want to bore the others but you are most welcome to e mail me at NurseAnna@AOL.COM. and I will happily tell you more. I am almost 99% back to normal and took the gammut of medications and the botox. It took me about 6 months to return to almost normal and today if anyone met me they would not know that I have any type of disorder. I also had the worst case of Meige and for a while apraxia but all of it seems to have dissipated. I do not take any medications (none for over 6 months) and haven't had botox since February. I am extremely grateful and not sure why this happened but each moment I live without this I am grateful. I am not a particularly religious person and can't tell you what one thing worked but I do believe that God and all of the people that prayed for me (and continue to) had a huge role in my remission (for lack of a better word). I can only imagine how devastating this is for you. It was for me and I didn't react to it very well. But I do believe there is hope out there and I hope that you find treatment successful. I don't post often but this board has meant alot to me and the people on here are absolutely wonderful and a wealth of information.
Take Care.
