I agree with Judy, our Moderator that you need to do your homework prior to any surgery. I had a Limited, or Partial, also known as the Dutton procedure in 1985. My Botox was not giving me enough relief in the upper eyelids. There are numerous new doctors, but my choice would be with a physician who has done numerous surgeries since the surgery is not reversible. There are some people who are fortunate to not need Botox injections after surgery or possibly go for a number of months and then find that they need Botox. This comes as a shock to many of our people who have spoken with me and can't understand why they need injections. After my surgery, I did have some black and blue for a while, but I put my dark glasses on and went on about working on the International Conference which was held in Ohio in 1989. After the surgery and the healing process, I did find that I had better hours throughout the day then prior to the surgery. It did not help with the Meige's, but I receive injections for that problem. My physician in town did my surgery. It was an oupatient procedure. Checked into the hospital around 7 A.M., woke up with patches on my eyes. The patches were removed before I left the hospital and I left the hospital around 1 P.M. The surgery took around 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Both eyes were done at the same time. The only scars that I have are in the crease of the eyelids and are hardly visible. I hope this is of help to those who are frightened to have the surgery. I realize we are all different, but get a doctor who has done numerous injections. I'm sure the Foundation would be able to help you with someone in your area.

Anita in Ohio (If you haven't made your reservations for the conference, I hope you do it soon) We want to see a large crowd attending.
